Further information

>HBSA was formally opened in 1980, and from its first programmes which were pre-recorded on an old disco unit the service has progressed to a vibrant voluntary organisation serving patients in Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.

In 2006, the station's output was overhauled and now broadcasts digitally across ISDN to the bedside via Patientline thus achieving a much better quality signal and resulted in HBSA regularly being the most listened to radio station in the hospital, ahead of most TV services also. In 2007, the service had a major refit including new equipment and a redesigned studio complex layout.

HBSA would like to thank NHS Ayrshire and Arran for their continued help and support which has been invaluable.
