scotland's hospital radio stations

about hba scotland

The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) is split into 12 geographical regions to allow member stations to meet at a local level, to discuss and share ideas with neighbouring stations and to serve as a forum for discussing developments relevant to particular areas.

Each region has it's own distinct identity and the Scotland Region is the biggest geographical region by area. To contact the HBA Scottish Regional Representative please see the details opposite.

Hospital Radio stations are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers that live locally and can spare a few hours of their time on a regular basis, so why not volunteer your services to your local station?

Jim Simpson from Grampian Hospital Radio was elected unopposed to the role of HBA Scotland representative at the Scottish Regional General Meeting on 17 August 2008.

about the hospital broadcasting association

The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA*) is the national charity that supports and promotes Hospital Broadcasting in the UK. It is managed by a committee elected from its membership and is staffed entirely by volunteers. As well as promoting Hospital Broadcasting and representing its members, the HBA offers its members a variety of services as well as professional advice.

Over 230 individual broadcasting stations have joined the Association, representing around 10,000 volunteers. Patients in over 90% of the UK's hospitals benefit from programmes designed to make life better for patients in hospital and aid their recovery. Full Membership of the HBA is open to any hospital radio or TV service in the UK. You can find out more about the HBA on their website by clicking on the link opposite.
